1st & 2nd Wednesdays at 6pm
Corner of South Aiken & Centre Ave.
Join the Prayer Vigils for Social Justice that take place on the corner of S. Aiken and Centre Avenues on the first two Wednesdays of each month. They are dedicated to Social Justice for Black Lives (first Wednesday) and the victims of gun violence in Allegheny County (second Wednesday).
Our Prayer Vigils for Social Justice, where we hold Black Lives Matter signs and, during the winter season, candles that glow in the dark, are a very important, loving witness to the people of the community who pass First Church! It is important to demonstrate our stand on the questions of social justice on this busy street corner while we reflect on how we can become Living Stones that act against the racism that still pervades our society. Numbers matter, so we encourage you to prayerfully consider your participation. Please also prayerfully consider how you can lead one of these vigils, sharing from your own personal journey to become an anti-racist.
